step by step processes of raw theatre explained

complete description

Set Up- phase is concerned with establishing material for each theatre event.
Play -
phase focuses on the action and the actors bringing the material to life.
Observe -
phase gives participants a chance to reflect on the action and its impact
New Set Up-
is either influenced from the previous action or is related to a differnt theme or stimulus.

Each step has a sequence of stages that are explained by clicking the description icon, and some may be viewed by clicking the illustration icon. We move through the Raw Theatre experience beginning with the important step of building a collective creative state - which simply means: getting the group ready to get ready to practice. We seek to reduce the caution of the "social self" which may prevent participants from having a full experience.

The next page outlines the emerging set of ethics for a Raw Theatre workshop event.
